MakerAbles has established a comprehensive set of Community Guidelines that clearly define the types of content and manners that are prohibited on our platform. These guidelines cover all types of content, including models, projects, comments, images, videos, links, and thumbnails of MakerAbles, AI Craft, Projects, Community Forum, Community and other programs of MakerAbles platform (collectively herein after referred as "MakerAbles").

To ensure compliance, we use a combination of human reviewers and machine learning algorithms, applying these guidelines equally to all users, regardless of their background, political viewpoint, position, or affiliation.

Our primary objective in implementing these policies is to foster a safe and inclusive community on MakerAbles. We aim to strike a balance between maintaining a safe environment and allowing creators the freedom to share a diverse range of experiences and perspectives.

General Guidelines

The following guidelines outline behaviors that are not allowed on MakerAbles. These rules are here to ensure a respectful, safe, and creative space for all users. Violations of these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, or other enforcement actions.

1. Spam & deceptive practices such as:

  • Fake engagement
  • Impersonation
  • Duplicate content
  • Spam, deceptive practices and scams

2. Sensitive content such as:

  • Content that endangers child safety
  • Thumbnails with explicit or sensitive images
  • Nudity and sexual content in any form
  • Suicide and self-harm
  • Vulgar language

3. Violent or dangerous content such as:

  • Harassment and cyber bullying in project listings, posts or comments
  • Harmful or dangerous content in project listings, posts or comments
  • Terrorism and extremist speech
  • Violent criminal organizations
  • Violent or graphic content in project listings, posts or comments

4. Offensive speech such as:

  • Abuse or defame other platform
  • Use of vulgar or obscene language
  • Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
  • Harmful slurs of nations or ethnic groups
  • Incitement of racial or ethnic hatred
  • Threats of violence or harm towards individuals or groups
  • Hate speech or actions that promote discrimination or intolerance

5. Regulated goods such as:

  • Firearms: Models that can be turned into a working firearm or explosive (does not apply to props or toys)
  • Illegal models or projects
  • Illegal or regulated goods, or services or transactions

6. Advertising such as:

  • Upload a model with obvious advertising information, such as a scan code showing a non-MakerAbles platform in the IMAGE, or a service unrelated to the projects
  • provided in the description projects including
  • Lottery and other promotional activities without authorization
  • External guidance including but not limited to links or scan code to non-MakerAbles related businesses, organizations, online stores, or websites

7. Prohibited cheating activities such as:

  • Account trading or unauthorized account transfers
  • Falsifying transactions or data
  • Inducing or fraudulent activities such as boosting, liking, rating, makeing, downloading, collecting, or commenting in exchange for monetary or other form benefits
  • Deliberately generating invalid or malicious traffic such as: massively upload、post、comment any non-CNC manufacturing content
  • Any other form of cheating or deceptive behavior

8. Do not upload infringing content such as:

  • Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, patents and/or other intellectual property rights
  • Infringement of individual's portrait rights, the rights of publicity, personal information
  • Upload a project with identical images, pictures, patterns, texts, or structures as the existing original model uploaded from others

Project Guidelines

1. Select the correct upload type for your Projects

  • Projects that belong to another creator but are uploaded as "Original" will be taken down. If the Project infringes on the intellectual property of another creator, the account uploading this Project will be flagged and can lead to a temporary or permanent MakerAbles account ban.
  • Projects that only have slight variations but are uploaded as "Original" will be taken down (Please note that scaling, cropping, coloring, fixing non-manifold surfaces, low poly, simplify, added/deleted logo or text, etc. are considered minor changes and not "Original").

2. Follow source Project licenses

Specific License Requirements:

  • Re-uploading: Projects prohibited from re-uploading cannot be re-uploaded.
  • Attribution (BY): Re-uploads and derivatives of projects requiring attribution must credit the original creator.
  • No Derivatives (ND): Projects prohibiting derivatives cannot be remixed.
  • Share-Alike (SA): Re-uploads and derivatives of projects requiring identical license terms must maintain the same license terms.
  • Additional License Requirements: Adhere to any additional license requirements of source projects.

CC0 License Requirement:

  • When publishing a public project under the CC0 license, an image of the actual make must be included to demonstrate workpiece. Failure to do so will result in the project being taken down.

3. Do not upload misinformation such as:

  • Exaggeration of project functionalities
  • Using misleading phrases such as "Best, Top, Official" in project or print listing
  • Upload a project with unrelated or meaningless tags

4. Do not upload duplicate projects

  • Please do not upload the same project repeatedly (projects with identical information).
  • Please do not upload multiple projects of the same type using the same photo or minor difference in logo and text.

5. Avoid Uploading Damaging CNC Machine

Please refrain from uploading projects that could potentially damage CNC Machine or their components, or affect their functionality. This includes:

  • Modifications that affect the machine's core functionality or the operation of accessories
  • Maked parts that claim to enhance the user experience but actually introduce problems or have been reported as causing issues.
  • We will enforce this rule based on user feedback, reports, and support tickets that identify problematic modifications.

6. Adult content

  • Please do not upload projects containing adult content.

7. Label AI-Generated Content

  • When uploading projects or posts that generated by AI, please ensure that you clearly identify and flag the AI generated content.

8. Safety First: Disclose Potential Risks

  • When uploading projects that could potentially cause personal injury, property damage, or fire hazards, please clearly identify and disclose these risks.

9. Complete Project Uploads Required

  • To maintain project integrity, please ensure that all uploaded projects include all necessary components. This includes the project name, project file, project image, and assembly instructions. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
  • Dividing a complete project into multiple uploads.
  • Project files are incomplete, missing parts, or missing critical components.

10. Additional Upload Rules

  • Please do not upload projects unrelated to the contest for participation; participating projects must closely align with the contest theme.
  • Please do not use incorrect or irrelevant links as source project links to avoid misleading information and intellectual property risks.
  • Please do not use images from shopping website images, comment section, or other's model as photos of makes to avoid misleading information and intellectual property infringement risks.

Account Guidelines

  • Do not use other people's avatars, names or descriptions. Such accounts may be banned.
  • Do not post advertising information or links on your account name, description, pictures, etc. Affiliate links or other promotional materials included in your bio are not allowed.
  • User content must not contain the MakerAbles official logo, suggest endorsement, or use misleading words or descriptions (such as best, official, top, better, limited, etc.).

Violations

MakerAbles reserves the right to independently assess the violations of these Guidelines and take the following measures at its discretion:

1. Remove account from any or all programs

2. Take down projects

3. Revoke Incomes

4. Point Penalties

5. Restriction of Certain Account Functions

  • Your account may be banned from uploading any projects or other submissions.
  • Your account may be banned from any or all programs applications for 30 calendar days.
  • Repeat offenders may be suspended from any or all programs applications permanently.

6. Permanent Closure of the Account

  • All projects under your account will be removed from MakerAbles.
  • All points under your account will be revoked.
  • The account will no longer be able to post, upload projects, or engage in other activities.

If users believe that a mistake has been made, they have the option to appeal any suspension or termination by sending an email to account@makera.com. Our teams will conduct a thorough reevaluation of the decision.

The email needs to include the following information:

  • Your display name and @username
  • Email address you use to sign in to your MakerAbles account
  • Reasons for account termination
  • Reasons for appeal (Please briefly explain why you think your account was banned in error. Be sure to review Community Guidelines before submitting your appeal.)
